Here's some tips from my past weeks and suggestions if you are sticking around LA for the long weekend.

Definitely check out the Barbara Kruger exhibit at L+M Arts in Venice (I love this gallery!!)

Have some drinks at the Stark Bar at Lacma! Oh and enrich your life by taking in some Art as well, the new Tim Burton retro to start....

Grab a bite at Son of Gun - I know it's a seafood restaurant but the Chicken Sandwich is BOMB and I rarely eat chicken!!

And most importantly have a great 3day holiday weekend however you chose to spend it!!!

While running around Santa Monica yesterday I somehow managed to more or less remember the name and location of Funnel Mill, a boutique coffee and tea shop. We stopped to check it out...this is really not the place to swing through for a quick cup of coffee or tea. It is a great spot to bring your laptop, drink a delicious beverage and chill.

I am obsessed with mint tea (and probably food/drink in general). More often then not this requires me to run to the SMFM first thing Wednesday mornings to grab a bunch or two of the Moroccan Mint Leaves from Coleman Farms. No joke, I don't arrive before 9a its gone! And trust me Moroccan mint leaves makes a big difference!! Coleman also happens to have the BEST lettuce - all varieties....

Today I found this shot on Vie's page - cups and cups of what looks will be the most delicious mint tea....OOO!

Rodarte 'States of Matter' at the MOCA-PDC Museum....coming in March. The exhibit will feature pieces from Collections from 2008-2010.

The sisters had a little soiree last year showcasing their SIC shoes (colab with N Kirwood) at Mona Moore that I was lucky to attend. I was not lucky enough to receive a free pair of shoes!!!

A Hornet and a King

Last night I went to a screening of The Green Hornet. Apparently, the movie is coming out in 3D when it opens in January. However, the screening was not? Without giving anything away (hate when people do that!)

A few comments....

I went in knowing zero about this film, so when I read the credits rolled, I was shocked to learn it was directed by Michel Gondry. Shocked mainly because it seemed sooo mainstream for him!

All the guys around me laughed throughout the entire film.

This is the type of movie you have to see on a big screen.

I also saw The King's Speech this week. Incredible, I loved the way it was shot and Colin Firth was spectacular, way to commit to a role. Helena B Carter and Geoffrey Rush are fabulous as well!

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

I gave this product a try. I was amazed that you take this product that has the consistency of paste and rub it in your hands for a second and it immediately turns into an oil. Although it did not seem to absorb in my hair that well, it more or less stayed on top and did not seem to penetrate, so I wasn't sure how well it would work. I washed it out per the instructions, shampooed (is that even a word!) and put in conditioner. All in all my hair feels soft but not so sure of the nutty almost ashy smell. Maybe be a little to earthy for me, and this coming from years of living in Boulder where the term earthy is really put to the test.

I went to a screening of The Fighter last night! It was terrific and personally it motivated me to start to move my body more! I was surpised to see Darren Aronofsky, ya know - the director of Black Swan, is the Executive Producer.

In case you haven't heard, Black Swan is a must see!!

I try to run a 4-5 days a week and my schedule this week has made it especially hard. I should mention, I H.A.T.E running in the early morning. My body is not ready and I like to run when it warms up. Not this morning, I've already gotten my run in and credit 100% goes to The Fighter.

Babajiji means Grandparents. This I learned last Thursday night at a beautiful little soiree hosted by the Tortoise Clan. The evening was part jewelry show and part dining experience. I'm a big fan of Clare Vivier and her collection of bags; handbags, clutches, totes...Yesterday I was invited to a tete a fete in her honor at the new Soho House. It was a lovely time and we even managed to sneak in drinks and dinner on the rooftop patio watching the sun go down over the lights of LA.

At the party, I met Jesse Kamm, forever immortalized by her shift with the big black bow (see pic above). We chatted a bit and Jesse shared some very interesting projects she and her husband have underway.

Apple did such an amazing job designing the Ipod, were they all tapped out when it came to the headphones or in-ear buds? Let's face it, for running they SUCK, they don't even stay in your ear!

Yesterday I encountered the Tango Mango Italian Ice Company and sampled some delish flavors; mango, CHOCOLATE CHIP!!!

Now if we could only have some summer heat here in SoCal, we would all want some refreshing Italian Ice

On a side note - I am SICK of Eat, Pray Love and it's not even out yet. This film is so OVERmerchandised and OVER capitalized, its disgusting.

Thus far, I've had furniture, clothing, perfume and more than one jewelry collaboration thrust in front of my face. Isn't the 'moral' of the story about stripping all the layers and finding your true self. Seems quite contradictory if you ask me!!

And to cap it off I heard that Julia Roberts is now a practicing Hindu???

My ipod is on its last leg....(it's sooo old school version 1.0 20g all white) - poor thing keeps freezing and dying and restarting and freezing and dying and restarting.

Anyone got a spare ;o)!!!!! please please??

I would DIE without music for my runs or workouts, yet for some reason all thoughts lead to the ipad.

If I were to indulge it would most definitely be held in one of Clare's hot pink Ipad covers!! Yet another Clare Vivier piece I covet! Actually, is there a Clare piece that I don't covet?
