Green Denver Museum of Contemporary Art
If you didn't already know, the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art is upgrading to a beautiful new space.
I, for one, am very excited!
About the building
-Designed by leading architect, David Adjaye. His first US commission
- MCA is actively pursuing LEED certification, this would make MCA the first contemporary art museum with the LEED cert.
-A roof garden to be designed by Artists Kim Dickey and landscape architect Karla Dakin, to increase the insulation levels and help stabilize the temperature in the building.
- Focus on contemporary Art ++++
If you go to the museum website (click here) - be sure to check out the peace pile.
3D for U2 & Me
While in Houston a few weeks ago, my friend mentioned taking her kids to a 3D version of Meet the Robinsons.
At the time I thought this was a new feature targeted for kiddies, then I read about the new U2 movie (U2 3D) which premiered at Cannes. Its a a feature-length U2 concert movie shot in 3D.

Don't mess with our chocolate
Long story short...
"U.S. Chocolate Industry are supporting a change in the basic formula of chocolate, by allowing the use of vegetable fat substitutes in place of cocoa butter. In our opinion, these changes will adversely affect the eating, physical and nutritional qualities of chocolate, begging the question: What consumer benefit is associated with implementing such change?"
My response - NOTHING!

Rachel Ortas
I can't figure out why I am drawn to these cards by Rachel Ortas. I guess because they are eerily cute with lovely colors. Her website is pretty cool too.
Doodle, scribble, sketch
I am a huge doodler and list maker who is drawn to the visual.
Ecojot pads meet all the criteria PLUS they are 100% recycled, made with 100% post-consumer waste journals, notebooks and sketch pads. NO NEW TREES were used + they are “SWEAT SHOP FREE” + the glues and inks are vegetable based and fully biodegradable.

Green & Funkin
Daniel Moyer designs and builds furniture. He uses small-mill locally harvested hardwood to create the furniture. He had a lot of wood scraps from the biz so came FunkinFunction longboards .
I don't skate and don't intend but these boards are cool even for the non-skater.
I love the name, the logo and the lines. They have that old school vibe - I bet they ride pretty darn nice too....

Lela Rose
I am on a posting frenzy this am....
From Farrand Hall to the NYTimes.
When I was a student at CU I used to buy t-shirts that Lela created. We both resided in Farrand Hall one summer.
She was profiled in Sunday's T Mag (a great NYTimes supplement) and has a beautiful clothing line.

Joom on Etsy
Sure, there are other websites like Etsy but for whatever reason it is the one I visit. I have purchased numerous items from all over the world via Etsy and its been safe & hassle-free.
I continually 'suggest' my artist friends display their work on Etsy.
Here are some great pillows from Joom. Take a look around and see what catches your eye...
