Babajiji means Grandparents. This I learned last Thursday night at a beautiful little soiree hosted by the Tortoise Clan. The evening was part jewelry show and part dining experience. The food was prepared by Yuri Nomura. It was fresh, delicious and the presentation was impeccable. Jump over to her website for more - Eatrip. Her website is Babajiji and it was Yuri who taught me Babajiji means Grandparents!

First of Its Kind

Indigenous Designs, a Northern California-based fashion design company, is proud to announce its collection will receive a first-of-its-kind “Fair Trade” certification Fair Trade USA. The certification demonstrates that Indigenous’ business practices in its production—from organic cotton fields in South America to high-fashion boutiques around the world—treat people and the planet with respect and dignity.
Indigenous Designs will stop in locations throughout Northern California, Idaho and Washington late October through November. For further details visit www.facebook.com/indigenousdesigns.

L + M & LACMA Renzo
In the past 5 days or so I had the fortune to attend openings at both LACMA and L+M Arts. I must admit, L+M gets my vote for the best of the week. Rather than reading my 'hack' review let's leave it to the experts - jump here to read Edward Goldman's pov on both exhibitions.

Phoenix @ Hollywood Bowl
What a fun night!!!! The show was FANTASTIC!
++ Makes me all the more excited for Sofia Coppola's upcoming film Somewhere, which just won the Grand Prize at the Venice Film Festival
If you don't get the connection - the soundtrack for the film was created by Phoenix.

Catfish
Last night I went to a screening and q+a of the Sundance Darling and soon to be released Catfish! This doc, feature, new category, whatever you want to call it is superb! A must see!!!
Two things come to mind after a bit of reflection....As much as I love JT the Social Network is about to get the rug pulled out from under them.
And
Without giving anything anyway because I want everyone to have the chance to see the movie with very little background information as I did...Are the directors exploiting Abby to a degree too???
