Dear Hanukah Chicken (Justin understands....)

If you are looking for something for me besides the no fail, I will love you forever, chocolates or champagne pressie. Please consider a candle from Le Labo....

On a completely unrelated side note - do you know about GOOP - Gwenie's weekly email blast. I tried 2 of her recipes this week - the frittata and pumpkin bread. Love the idea of a pumpkin bread without sugar but here is my advice. INCREASE the spices; bland, bland, bland.

Capital UGH!

I am using Firefox since apparently there is some bug that it allows people to access all your passwords. And its a trial by fire situation, plus none of my bookmarks are on firefox. Its rainy and cold here and unfortunately someone, meaning me, needs to walk the pooch.

Wouldnt it be nice if this came in a size XXXXXL and he could walk himself.....

Rainy Monday

It's a chilly rainy Monday is LA....so let's talk about Sunday. After I finished working the Stacy P (Dogtown and Z-boys) Made in America Global Green Event. This was an amazing doc. I busted over to Gordon's store opening on Melrose. I basically missed the entire event but I wanted to show my support. And Gordon rewarded me with this beautiful rope bracelet, cool right? Reminds me of my childhood on the beaches of the east coast. But Gordon took it one step further (so Gordon) and had each bracelet scented from Le Labo. Which, if you don't know now has an LA outpost on 3rd. And most definitely worth visiting. Here are some bad photos.....

New find

I really enjoyed this photo of flowers (lovely black borders) from the George Eastman house - credit is to this blog I stumbled on about 10 minutos ago...http://liebemarlene.blogspot.com/
Mainly great vintage clothing but bits and pieces of other goodies, as demonstrated above.
After spending most of the day cleaning up dog vomit, and then rushing my dog to the vet while trying to get back into major work mode via calls, emails and arrive on time to an important meeting (which I did), I am done with this Monday! Good night..

Brillant!

HSBC Bank in Australia made their receipts fun and interactive, also gaining buzz, by printing diagrams on the back of each that instructed how to transform into origami.
Each design touted a relevant service: an origami house design promoted home loans, a pig for savings accounts, a handbag for credit card services, and a mouse for online banking. Not only an innovative concept, but they also speak to the trend of consumers looking to make the most of paper goods that would otherwise end up in the trash.

Cage Free Rescue

When, I travel my dog goes to sleep away camp at Cage Free K-9. He loves it, comes back exhausted and sleeps for a good day or so straight! They also have dog rescue and today this email came in. With these terrible photos! Who could ever pour battery acid on a dog.

We'd like to introduce you to Newton. He is an adorable one and a half year old neutered male Terrier mix. He's a spunky, friendly little fellow who only asks for kindness and love to make the rest of his life truly happy and fulfilled! Someone with very cruel intentions purposefully poured battery acid on Newton's back, causing a severe chemical burn injury to a large portion of his skin. After undergoing extensive medical treatment, Newton's wounds are healing nicely. He is now on the mend, both physically and emotionally.

50 years of the Peace (sign)

Too bad we can't say there has been 50 years, days or even minutes of peace!

If you are in NYC check out the Barneys Windows!!

Returning from Malibu

When I woke up the sky was overcast and grey from smoke and there was ash on my car. So, I took the dog and headed up to into the hills/canyons of Malibu yesterday. Hoping the air quality would be better. It was!
Driving back on the PCH, I came across these two new BWM Diesel SUV's out for testing. The pics sux because I it was on the fly. I want a job where I get to drive test Beamers on the PCH for the weekend. Unfortunately, I never connected with them at a light to ask for application. Bummer....

Oro Blanco Grapefruit

I try and make a point of hitting the Venice Farmers Market every Friday. There really is no excuse, its spitting distance and the quality and PRICES can't be beat. YES, even cheaper than Trader Joe's where I shop regularly. And no annoying plastic boxes holding your produce.

I love when I am introduced to a new fruit or vegetable...today that would be the oro blanco grapefruit. This baby is delicious and this coming from someone who doesn't typically like grapefruit. The taste is a complete departure from a typical GF, the Oro Blanco sweet and light.
I think the name translated might even be White Gold...;o)

Highly recommended!

Yesterday I got my hands on a jar of Giovanni Cosmetics Organic Body Butter. For an organic product its extremely affordable and effective! The butter is just that, but unlike a salve that never seems to get into your skin and just picks up every piece of lint and dirt after you apply. Giovanni gets in and smells great.

I know its available at Whole Foods but I bet the website has a complete listing of outlets - Giovannicosmetics.com

WASHINGTON (AP) -- John McCain's presidential campaign said thousands of dollars worth of clothing purchased by the Republican Party for running mate Sarah Palin will go to a ''charitable purpose'' after the campaign.
The Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on clothing, hair styling, makeup and other ''campaign accessories'' in September for the McCain campaign after Palin, the governor of Alaska, joined the ticket.
The expenses include $75,062 spent at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis Minn., and $41,850 in St. Louis in early September. The committee also reported spending $4,100 for makeup and hair consulting. The expenses were first reported by Politico.com

After working on the NY launch last night it moved coasts and to present the LA launch at the Arquettes. The event was a blast, beginning with a synchronized swimming performance. When I first heard about this I was wondering what the H*** but it was a lovely touch, to the fashions to the Ben Harper ++ mini concert.

Let the name dropping begin with in the first 15 minutes I spotted; Heidi Klum, Vincent Gallo, Luka Haas, Lance Armstrong, Diane Wiest, Rosanna Arquette, Laura Dern, many more Arquettes, Pee Wee Herman.....

About last night....

Since its soon to be a memory I figured I should attend a fash show or two at Smashbox this season. I rounded up a few friends and took them to the Elmer Ave show. My friend grabbed her company Smart Car and off we went. It was the Smart Car move of the night as Smart Car is Daimler AG or Mercedes Benz, the show title sponsor. This landed us front row valet parking which made for a very easy getaway....after the show we were heading home and someone was projecting this Converse short film aka ad on the wall. Sorry All pics are fuzzy.

On Monday Mi amigo y me had our cars 'bladed.' Bladed you ask?

This technology attaches to your tailpipe, looks cool (very important in my book - I know shallow), cuts down on harmful emissions and increases the fuel efficiency of your auto. It works on all types; take our cars for example - Yes I purposely scribbled out the license plate. Notice, one of us is driving a super styley 64 galaxy and one isnt but not mentioning any names....
